About Us

AIM:  

Develop, manage and co-ordinate sector transformation and gender mainstreaming policy and strategy in line with the government objectives for the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector

 

FUNCTIONS:

1.     Develop sector-specific policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures wrt transformation within the sector

2.     Facilitate the development of capacity for transformation in the sector

3.     Develop a framework to facilitate the implementation of programmes aimed at achieving the department’s and government’s objectives and international obligations with regards to vulnerable groups (i.e. farm workers, communities etc.) within the sector

4.     Monitor and advice on the implementation of special programmes initiatives focusing on People with disabilities, Youth Development, Women and vulnerable groups (i.e. farm workers, communities etc.) within the sector

5.     Identify sector related social improvement opportunities to ensure maximum participation of the vulnerable groups (i.e. farm workers, communities etc.)

6.     Manage the development of a service delivery improvement plan for the sector
